Toss the steak slices with 1 tsp of the black pepper and the ¼ tsp of salt. Heat 3tbsp of the sunflower oil and the 1 tsp of sesame oil in a wok (or large frying pan) over a high heat until hot, then add the steak. Fry the steak for 2-3 minutes, moving it around the wok so it doesn’t stick together, until browned.Instructions. Brown beef in a large heavy bottomed pot. Drain fat. Instructions. Place the beef in the slow cooker and spread the peppers and onions over the top. Mix the garlic, sugar, pepper, broth, worcheshire sauce and soy sauce together and pour all over the top. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 4 hours. When the beef is tender mix the cornstarch with the cold water and mix together.
Heat oil in a large sauté pan over medium heat. When oil begins to shimmer, add mushrooms, shallots, and onion. Stir occasionally until shallots begin to turn translucent and mushrooms give up their water, about 5 minutes. Add wine and reduce liquid volume by half. Turn heat down to low, cover, and cook gently for 5 minutes.
